How is the screening done?

 

Coronary Artery Calcium ScoringThis safe and painless procedure is performed with an ultra-fast CT Scanner that takes multiple pictures of the moving heart. The entire procedure takes only minutes. A special computer program analyzes the images and determines the presence and amount of calcium.

Who should consider having a CACS Test?

 

Anyone with the following risk factors should consider having this test:

 

• Men over 45


• High blood pressure


• Women over 55


• High stress lifestyle


• Smoker or 2nd hand exposure


• Sedentary lifestyle High cholesterol


• Obesity


• Family history of Coronary Artery Disease


• Diabetes

 

Will my insurance pay for this screening test?

 

Unfortunately, this test is currently not covered by insurance. We are pleased to offer this test at a reduced rate of $260. Payment is due at the time of service. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.

 

Do I need a referral?

 

No. You can schedule the screening through your physician or call us directly. However, we will need the name of your physician in order to send the results.

 

How do I get my results?

 

After the exam is reviewed by one of our expert radiologists, the results will be mailed to you and your physician.
